Accreditation

The LAA cares deeply about professional standards and ethical behaviour in our sector. We also know that these views are shared by our members. We all want a very clear approach to those matters and to raise all levels of behaviour across the sector.

The laundry sector is fundamentally governed by the Australian Standard 4146:2000 for Laundry Practice, and the LAA is committed to the review that we initiated in 2022 and will see a greatly improved AS 4146 in the months ahead. We also know that there are other key elements of industry behaviour that are not specifically identified in the Standard, but are nevertheless important for our sector’s professional and ethical standing. Given this commitment, the LAA has initiated a self-assessment checklist for LAA members to undertake. This checklist will then be reviewed by the LAA and if necessary, follow up questions or a visit to the laundry may be arranged.

Following the acceptance of the accreditation, the name of the laundry site will be placed on this page, and promotion of those laundry sites will be undertaken by the LAA and can also be undertaken by the business itself, as a LAA Accredited Laundry.
